Call for Abstracts

2026 SCU Annual Conference

July 24–26, 2026 | Toronto, Canada

Theme: The Role of Science and Global Governments in UAP Research

Call for Abstracts

Dear Colleagues,

The Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies (SCU) invites submissions of research abstracts for
its 2026 Annual Conference, to be held July 24–26, 2026 in Toronto, Canada. The conference
theme, “The Role of Science and Global Governments in UAP Research,” focuses on scientific
studies and the role of scientific study in global governments related to Unidentified Anomalous
Phenomena (UAP). The conference provides a scholarly forum for completed or in-work
research. All submissions will undergo peer review for scholarly rigor and relevance.

Presentation Formats: SCU will offer two options for submissions presentation formats:

1. Full Presentation (45 minutes)
These sessions are based on completed or near-completed scholarly research. Presenters
will have 30–35 minutes for presentation, followed by moderated Q&A.

2. Lightning Round Presentation (15 minutes)
Lightning Round presentations are designed for concise, focused contributions. These
may include for example preliminary or exploratory research findings, or focused case
studies. Lightning presentations emphasize clarity, precision, and discussion potential
rather than full development, making them ideal for emerging or targeted work.

Topics include but are not limited to: case studies, field instruments, AI techniques, propulsion,
technosignatures, historical analysis, personal and social impact, and characterization.
Important Dates:
Submission Deadline: Mar 15, 2026
Date for Notification: Apr 1, 2026
Presentations due: July 7, 2026
Conference Dates: July 24–26, 2026

Abstracts should be sent by email to: submissions@explorescu.org. Please also indicate in the
email whether you have any preference for presentation format.
We encourage scholars from relevant disciplines to submit their work and to share this call
within their academic and professional networks.

Sincerely,
Conference Committee, Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies (SCU)
